Baby Bloomer - June 2011!

That's right...The Bloomer family is expanding from 2 to 3 and we couldn't be more ecstatic!  Since I'm 5 months pregnant there's lots to catch up on, but I'll start with the first journal entry I wrote after I found out.

I’m pregnant! I don’t think I’ll ever forget the moment I took the pregnancy test and went to check expecting to see just one pink line and I saw two! I had to do a double take and shake my head a bit to believe it! It was a Monday night and we had just gotten back in town from the ranch trip with the Marshall & Bloomer families. Tyler was on his first day of psych call until midnight and I had taken a test just 3 days before and it had been negative so I was taking one more before I called the doctor the next morning since I was concerned. It was September 27 and I was just relaxing, watching Gossip Girl and everything changed in a milli-second. I immediately started thinking of all the things this meant and the way that God had heard our prayers & answered. I was & am sooooo excited!!

I didn’t want to tell Ty until I was sure so I waited until the next morning to take another (needless to say I couldn’t go to sleep that night and I’m pretty sure when he got home from the hospital I didn’t go to the door to greet him because I thought my face would tell it all). The test the next morning was positive again and I decided to tell Ty after work. During the day I ran by a Cavender’s and picked up some tiny little cowboy boots. Cowboy boots seem to occupy a lot of our free money and gifts, whether it be designing some custom boots, adding more boots to the wish list, or just looking at boots. I knew ty would want that to be the very first purchase for our little one and something we would have forever. I couldn’t wait to give them to him and tell him the news! Well…I had a conference call that I was presenting on at 4 so when I got home I had to jump on that call and he ran to the mall to pick out a new suit. I talked to him after my conference call and he thought I was going to my Junior League event and encouraged me to go so I didn’t have to do it later so I went ahead and attended....then after Junior league he wanted to go to best buy and out to eat. It was never ending activities and it was killing me inside!

As soon as we got home, I told him I had a present for him. He had currently “misplaced” his watch and was searching the house for it. It was hard to get his attention, but when I showed him the box he looked at me and stopped for a minute. “What is it?” he asked. Of course, I told him to just open it. Right when he opened it his jaw dropped.  He looked at me with a surprised look on his face and said “really?” When I said “yes, I’m pregnant” the biggest smile came over his face. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the excitement in his eyes and smile.

It is wild how much our thought process changed in one week. We went from being a family of 2 to a family of 3. Every decision we make and all talk about the future now includes our little one.

We pray nightly for my body and our little one and that he/she will be growing and developing as a healthy baby. We know that God has blessed us and everything is in his plan. I’ll never forget the past week and am so excited for what is to come with baby Bloomer!
