It is official. Tyler had graduated from medical school. Can I get an hallelujah?!
These four years have flown by and I could not be prouder.
Medical school is some serious work. Serious work with no pay.
The first two years consist of constant studying and living at the library and the third year is full of long work shifts. The fourth year is a little easier with lots of travelling, interviewing, and different rotations.
From the very beginning of Tyler and I's relationship, I knew that he wanted to be a doctor. He has been determined through it all...and the long road continues, but he is officially a medical doctor.
We had quite the celebration last weekend to celebrate Tyler with family & friends.
We started off the weekend with dinner Saturday night at one of our San Antonio favorites, Paesano's, followed by a baby free stop at some of our fave downtown bars.
The graduation ceremony was Sunday at 2 o'clock at St. Mary's University.
I have to take a second to brag on Tyler
(although he'll probably get mad at me when he reads this).
He has studied and worked so incredibly hard during medical school.
He received membership into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA) and won the Paul Cutler Award for Clinical Excellence among his peers.
Watching Tyler be hooded and and receive his diploma was a bit surreal...
Jack had a great nap beforehand and we were a bit worried about the ceremony being right in the middle of afternoon nap but he did great. We had lots of people around to entertain him.
It also helps that dad graduated at the beginning of the group (13 of 206)...one of the perks of a "B" last name.
We headed to Aunt Peggy's afterwards for a celebratory and relaxing night of mexican food, swimming, & gifts.
We love you Dr. B!
