Today Jack is 14 months.
Things have been so incredibly wild since his one year birthday but
through it all he has been so sweet, funny, & happy. I love spending everyday with him and he constantly
entertains me. Sure, he loves to throw
fits and act like it’s the end of the world when I shut a door so he can’t
enter a room or take something away from him, but shortly after he’s back to
playing.
Jack has 6 teeth and is eating pretty much all table foods
that we give him (that doesn’t mean he likes them all though).
He isn’t walking (sigh) which stresses dad and me out but I
know he will soon. He has no problem
getting around and loves to run down the hallways with anything he can
find. He stands on his own, but just
hasn’t taken the first step. Tyler walked
at 9 months and I walked at 14…I keep telling Tyler he wants to be like me. He bear crawls when he doesn’t want to put
his knees on the ground and has mastered going up and down stairs now (just
the 3 stairs to the tv room & laundry room…don’t worry).
He talks constantly but doesn’t say many specific
words. He says “mama”, “d”a when Tyler
walks in a room, “bubba”, and makes the ”j” sound for jake & jack. We are working on sign language because he
wants everything but I don’t know what he wants! He is constantly pointing & reaching
& wanting.
His nap schedule has changed to once a day. While my parents were in town we had a really
hard time getting him down for each nap and if he went down for his morning nap
then he didn’t want his afternoon nap & vice versa. When Tyler was on nights he would get home
around 11am so I started putting Jack down about the same time as Tyler (noon) and
this week it has moved to around 1 or 1:30.
He has been perfectly happy with this and naps for about 2-3 hours. The first few weeks in the house were rough
with night sleeping and he would wake up at least once a night crying & screaming but
recently he has been sleeping from about
8pm to 7:30-7:45am.
We have started Gymboree and I am looking forward to doing many
more activities with him as we figure out our routine. He goes running with me each morning and is
always so happy to see me when he wakes up.
I love running errands with him & he is my partner in crime.
We love our little boy so much. Happy 14 months!
