Opryland Hotel - ICE!

I have lots of childhood memories at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. When we lived in Germantown, we headed there a couple of times during the holiday season and as a little kid the place seemed SO big and I remember getting lost.

Fast forward to present day and you still get lost in that place.

I've stayed at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas and it is very similar but to me doesn't compare to Opryland. When Tyler and I went on our road trip a couple of years ago I drug him to stay at the hotel & I loved it.

Now we can visit anytime we want (FYI - Tyler does not want to visit).

We had never been to ICE and Tyler got free tickets so I planned his 1 of 2 days off before Christmas and we were on our way.

I knew it was cold. I brought Jack's heavy Northface jacket but we figured he'd be warmer in the supplied coat. I also have a child that will NOT wear a hat or mittens (he flips out). So it didn't go quite as planned since he was FREEZING! He eventually let us put his hat on, but the mittens just made him more upset so we ended up kinda rushing through (thank goodness it was free!).

Afterwards, we explored the hotel & Jack had a grand old time. He wanted to climb up every stair and if I stopped him he threw such a fit.  The MLB winter meetings were going on and the Baseball Tonight guy was filming in the atrium and I'm pretty sure Jack was screaming his head off in the background.

lots of stairs

After we visited Santa we hung out in Holly Jolly town for some good entertainment.

Successful family holiday day!
