Madelyn meets Texas

Madelyn made her first trip to Texas in February to meet so many family & friends!
I made the solo flight with the kids & everything went smoothly on the way there (the way back was a WAY different story).
We had a busy first weekend with two showers for Taylor to celebrate Baby Boy Walker (see post) & a get together for some friends & family to meet Madelyn.

John & Madelyn met at my mom's house (above), but I took the kids down to Dallas to Ellen's house so that Kate & Jack could play together, too.  The last time they had seen each other Kate was only about 2 or 3 weeks old.  (and this was the best picture I could get :))

We made a trip over to Duncanville to see Mima & Jack loved running around her back yard.  Mima has moved to McKinney since we visited so it was great to take Madelyn & Jack to the house that I will always remember visiting while I was growing up.

We stopped at the Frontiers of Flight Museum on our way back towards Plano & Jack LOVED it.  He obviously has a love of planes, trains, horses, & trucks so he loved seeing all the planes & helicopters up close.  If we lived in Dallas we would definitely be visiting often because he loved it!

We also made a road trip to Wichita Falls to see Nina.  The kids did great in the car (this was Madelyn's first "roadtrip").  Nina has also moved to Dallas recently, so again I loved being able to take Madelyn to Wichita Falls for the day & see Nina in her cottage.  I know she will be visiting WF again as she gets older when we visit the ranch in Vernon.

We made a quick trip to the Fort Worth Zoo on a beautiful day & Jack was in heaven.  We always try to make a trip to Fort Worth when we're in town & we drove Jack by the house Tyler & I lived in right after we were married.  We will always love that house!

Madelyn & I met my high school girlfriends for brunch the weekend before we left & she fit right in with all the girls.

Holly also joined us for our last dinner & Madelyn loved her!

The flight home was rough.  Our flight was delayed over an hour & it just threw the kids' schedules off completely. There were some meltdowns while we were waiting to board to the plane & the whole flight I was trying to contain the busy baby & keep the cranky toddler happy.  I was very excited to get back to Nashville after that flight, but ty was in the middle of a 30 hour shift so I somehow managed to get all 3 of us & all our stuff to the car.

Here are a few more Iphone pics of some fun things that went on, too!
