Meeting Bowen

Introducing Mr. Bowen Lee Walker!

During Tyler's spring vacation we headed to Austin to meet our new nephew, Bowen!  It's still hard to believe that Tyler and I are an aunt & uncle, Jack & Madelyn have a cousin, & Taylor & Jeff are parents!  Bowen turned 2 weeks while we were there so we were with him when he was very, very new.

Of course during our trip to Texas we did many of our favorite things including head to SaltLick for some delicious BBQ.

The boys went fishing on Town Lake & Jack was the only one who caught a fish!

We also ate lots of good Mexican food, visited the University of Texas campus, and just relaxed with Bowen & Gracie May (Taylor & Jeff's cat) who he LOVES.

Layne & Jackie (my future sister in law!) were in town for a friend's birthday so we met them for coffee one morning.  They had just recently gotten engaged so we were able to see the sparkler & hear all about it.

My parents headed down for dinner one night, too!

We left Austin on Easter Sunday afternoon so the boys hid eggs for Jack to hunt on Easter morning.

Beach - Day 3

By the third day we were starting to get the hang of it...and Madelyn starting enjoying the beach a little bit more. The weather couldn't have been more perfect when we were there (low to mid 70's & sunny).

Tyler & Jack flew the $1 Dusty Crophopper kite I had picked up at Wal Mart twice while we were there.  Who knew something so simple could provide so much entertainment!

Jack took swim lessons for 5 days a week for a month before we left for Florida.  He was obsessed with the pool & pretty much repeated the word pool continually while we were at the beach.  Towards the end of the trip he would just walk to the stairs on the beach and point to the pool until Tyler or I took him.

Madelyn also had her first swim while we there and she was kicking, splashing, laughing, and putting her face in the water like she had done it before!

The last night we went to an early fancy, family dinner at V at Seagrove & headed to Seaside for some...you guessed it...ice cream!

Jack hugging a huge ice cream cone was probably the best way we could have ended our trip...he was in love!
