Yep...it's October 15 and the title of this post is back to school.
When we moved here I researched some Parents Day Out programs at the local churches (which are EVERYWHERE here).
Most programs either start at age 2 or have a minimum of two days per week (I've read it's better consistency for the child), but I was interested in just one day a week right now. I wanted Jack to have some time away from me, around other kids, & in a learning environment and of course it's good for me to have some time for Jack-free errands.
One of the few programs that allowed his age & one day a week is very close to our house & had been recommended to us by several people. I put Jack on the waiting list thinking we'd never hear from them, but a few weeks ago I got a call that they had an opening for Mondays and we jumped on it!
Today was his first day and while I knew Jack would not be very happy when I dropped him off (we go through lots of tears weekly at the church nursery), I knew he'd have fun.
He may have toppled over the first time i put this backpack on him with stuff in it...oops.
I was excited to pick him up & he did great! They said he calmed down quickly after I left him, ate great, & took a good nap.
We even have new fall art for the kitchen.
