We've got 2 teeth & a roller

Well...little man officially has not 1, but 2 bottom teeth!

I got so excited when I felt the first tooth under the skin early last week...although I'm not a fan of the fussiness that goes along with it.  It had broken through by the end of the week and then the other one appeared early this week.  I wish I had a picture, but he barely lets me see them!

The past week was hectic, to say the least.  I had my quarterly POA meeting in Chicago from Monday to Wednesday so Tyler was on his own with Jack.  He just started his radiology rotation and I got a text from him after I landed in Chicago saying that daycare had called and Jack had a 102 temp and wouldn't eat.  I felt so helpless being so far away and when I talked to Tyler I could hear him wimpering in the background and it broke my heart.

Luckily Taylor was able to come in from Austin to take care of him Tuesday so Tyler could get back to work.  He did good and Tyler took him to daycare Wednesday only to get another call from daycare saying the same thing. I was flying home Wednesday and landed at 5:40 while Tyler had a flight to an interview leaving at 2:30.  We were passing each other in the air so Taylor was able to head in from Austin once again until I got home.  Thank you, Taylor!

Tyler took him to the pediatrician Monday after he picked him up and the doc said it was viral so not much we could do other than let him rest & tylenol for the fever.  Jack's also had really rosey cheeks lately (around christmas I told him he was trying to be like Santa), but when he got the temperature they flaired up even more so the pediatrician treated it, as well.

Jack's been to 4 doctor's appointments in the last two weeks (and another tomorrow) so our kitchen counter currently looks like a pharmacy.  Most of the appointments have been about the hemangioma on his eye and how it is affecting his vision (more on that later).

Besides the new teeth and being sick, Jack has FINALLY decided he wants to roll from his back to his stomach and sleep on his stomach, too.  We didn't know if we would see the day, but he is really wanting to be on the move.  As of now, he's still not quite getting anywhere besides rolling but it might not be long.  It's very foreign to me to look at the monitor and see him sleeping on his stomach...it really freaked me out the first time!

I'm taking him back to daycare in the morning and hoping that we don't get another phone call about a sick boy!  I'm ready to get back in the normal routine!

Here's him playing in his bath last night.  Love those baby blues!

  1. Hey! Just added you to my blog roll and saw this update. It stinks he's been so sick. We too went from empty cabinet shelf to pharmacy. Hope Jack starts feeling better soon!
